Weekend has been fun yet irritating in my memory.
I’ve been drunk for the nth time. Sid has called me out for a little booze which turned out to be heavy drinking session for me and an unwanted memory kept pestering me with a thought that branched out from a drunken conversation AND HAPPENING which im never going to reveal here. But other than that, catching up with Sid’s life has been a spontaneous thrill!
Also, R and his friends came to join in the fun, along with one of the supervisors at work. A is Sid’s friend. I feel abashed because Sid has been terribly drunk that night, she’d been tugging on my arm recklessly as if unaware of A ( did I mention that he HAPPENS to be a boss at my work) sitting in the middle of us!
It was so awkward because she has been shooting questions and or requests like: "TALK TO HIM!", "ENTERTAIN HIM!" like he can’t hear us. I’m sure he heard us because she has been shooting questions right at his back and we both look like lunatics, to be honest. Sid tugging on my arm pulling my face in to divert my attention, and me looking hopeless, yet still smiling like a moron. I didn’t have the strength to resist, I felt my arms were like jelly that time and my arm was practically on A’s shoulder which I HONESTLY did not like. I am very discreet about work, and hardly socialize with people at work!
It was somewhat a good night. K who’s a friend of R was good enough to keep us entertained with his story, although I hardly remembered anything he said, in fact in was all a slur in my ears. I blame it on the alcohol. R and A saved us from spending any cash, which I didn’t expect. In fact, I still have doubts until now whether the drinks were paid. R was good enough to escort Sid and I home. I also forced him to buy me an ice cream before I went home and he gladly obliged!
Anyway, ive finished Sophia Kinsella’s Remember Me book. Just delightful and very entertaining. Some parts of the book made me laugh so hard, I was bursting!
The story is about a girl who finds out that she is married to a multi millionare, holds an important position in her company, she has now a good set of teeth, fierce bod, and has infinite supply of branded make up and wardrobe. Which was the exact opposite of what she used to remember about her life. Now the problem is, she cannot remember how she made all of that success in three years because of her amnesia. Now she has to cope up to her old self.
I can’t stop talking about the book to my friend S! Its so good, it made me draw a fanart! I still a work in progress though. No proper inking or coloring yet.
S also borrowed my other book FALLEN, and she’s so hooked that she even researched about angels! I wasn’t really into the angel facts because I know that its just another fictional story, but then, some parts of the story are surprisingly facts—thanks to S who’s been now busy bombarding me with angel-related questions and i’ve been compelled into the researching as well. Now we’re both looking up the angelology and bothered!
She’s caught up in the mushy angel love story. I’m guessing she’s going to put her hands on the 2nd book TORMENT soon, which I am currently reading btw and loving it! I need a new book to devour on, im thinking Kinsella, or the third fallen series book, Passion.
I’ve also been dying to try Kimchi Bokumbap ever since my student told me what she had for dinner. I searched it on google images and the photos are so scrumptious it made me want to cook one! So I did! IT.IS.INFINITELY.DELICIOUS. I probably cooked more than I should have but M and I finished the plate of rice! I even brought a generous cupful for Sid on my way to my weekend booze, and she relished it!
It was my dinner the other day, and yesterday’s dinner and now its my lunch! I gave S a taste of it and she surprisingly likes my cooking! usually she’s obnoxious with anything I make. You might want to try it out, its an easy recipe!
Chicken Turnover and a cup of Cafe Americano from Cafe France to warm me during the rainy days!
I just finished reading FALLEN by Lauren Kate. (359 php at National Bookstore)
Let me just say, that I have always been facinated of angels since I was a child, and having an angel as your lover is the epitomy of my romantic fantasy! This book gave me a surge of romantic vibe all over again! It made me fall in love with the story even being single ATM. LOL.
This book made me so envious and jealous of the lead character. It made me wish I was her. Really.
If you want a fantasy, romantic book, this is a good young adult book! You will not tire in reading it. I finished the book in 2 days! I’m buying the second and third soon! They’re titled: Torment and Passion by Lauren Kate.
Review: Palty Orange Biscuit
I’ve been planning to dye my hair for a very long time, but I’ve been initially planning on dying it blonde. However, I am unsure whether my company would approve a drastic change. I’m aware of how much unwanted attention I might get from dying my hair blonde and it has been one of the reasons why I just opted for the usual brown color.
I like to grow my roots really really long— about 2-4 inches, because I think it helps in preventing my hair to become brittle and dry. We all know how harsh dying chemicals are for the scalp and our hair. I also think coloring virgin black roots makes the dye more vibrant than coloring over an already damaged hair. Thus, I like to color my roots in about 2-3 months. But I think that’ll change in July. I’m planning to dye my hair blonde, or at least ashy brown for my birthday. We’ll see if I change my mind.
Anyway moving on to the product. I’ve been researching about the one of the most popular hairdye over the internet, and its Palty! Not the foam type!
Here’s a photo of my black roots and colored hair. The brown streak you see is my last hair dye from my loyal salon Freshaire and my usual Hair color product is Schwarzkopf. It’s an amazing product btw! It may sting a bit, but the color and staying power is fantastic. I read Tricia Gosingtian uses it too.
It will dry your hair if you don’t use proper haircare products, and remember to trim your hair when splitends are starting to appear.
Simply squeeze the color pink tube in the white plastic bottle.
Shake the plastic bottle well till its completely mixed.
Take off the cap from the bottle and put on the comb on the plastic bottle.
Wear your plastic gloves and start applying the dye.
Start from your nape area going upwards to your hairline.
For prepping I left my hair unshampooed for 2days to let my hair’s natural oils protect my scalp.
The box instruction said to let the color sit in about 15-30 minutes. I left it for 1 hour to make the color more obvious. I usually observe my hair till it changes color before I decide to wash it off.
I had no trouble with stinging or itching sensation. It was the most gentle hair dye product I have used so far!
Here’s the photo right after I washed the color off. Because the instruction was in pure Japanese, I thought the pink sachet was a leave on, when in fact, it was a conditioner. I knew it was a conditioner because there was way too much product in the sachet. Ahh! Oh well, it made my hair softer either way.
Here’s a photo after 3 days.
Absolutely great product. I will not buy any other product, and just opt to dying my own hair with Palty from now on!
Thanks to http://marief2rnurse.sulit.com.ph/ for the fast transaction. I got my order in 2 days! I bought a box for only P550!
Post Summer Buys
Running short of money will not stop my shopping instincts especially now that we have an upcoming post summer vacation! I have yet to tell soon where it’ll be, but for now let me share a few things that I bought!
I am inlove with this sunhat. This is just gorgeous on me! It has a lovely sophisticated bow at the back, and the brim is not as wide hence will not be troublesome for narrow places, but wide enough to protect your face from the harsh sun. It doesn’t have a top part which is useful for me especially when my hair is wet from swimming, I can just simply wear the sunhat and conviniently wait till my hair completely dries from the top. Plus it gives a breezy feeling on my head! Its only 149 pesos from SM department store!
Here’s another fantastic product! Its Sunplay from Watsons! It is just an amazing product! Its sheer, and light as water, affordable for only 349 pesos, very good SPF coverage for 65PA++ UVA/UVB but the most important is its not sticky and does not smell like sunblock AT ALL! I truly love this purchase because it smells lightly of menthol and doesn’t have the usual sunblock smell and leaves a cooling sensation on your skin! Just perfect! I am definitely recommending this to everyone! You can use it as body and face sunblock! The only con I see is that it only contains 30ml.
This product gets a perfect ten and does even compare to Neutrogena’s sheer Sunblock which is heavier, stickier, oilier and smells like sunblock! I’m saying bye bye to Neutrogena’s Sunblock, Hello Sunplay!
Lastly, my favorite product of all! Its Moringa-O’s Body lotion. Okay, first, UVA/UVB protection, scent and lightening comes last to my preferences when I choose a lotion because I really have EXTREMELY DRY SKIN beyond repair! I prefer lotions that will heal cracked, dry, flaky skin.
My condition is hereditary so I have no choice but to live with it. I never go out of my house without a slather of lotion on my skin!
I’ve been putting on lotion for as long as I can remember and I have tried countless and countless of lotions, but there were only a few who made my skin better: Neutrogena’s Body Emulsion, NU skin body lotion and Moringa-O. Neutrogena’s Body Emulsion has been long discontinued so I am using NU skin as an alternative. Sadly, Nu Skin is too expensive and contains very little amount.
I’m glad that I’ve found Moringga O, now my skin’s all better! I loveeeeee this product and I swear you’ll love it too! Its non-sticky, light scent but most importantly will make your skin healthier and look better! Only for 279 pesos in SM department stores!
New Contact Lenses from Fresh Look!
Fish shaped chocolate biscuits to start off my work day! How lovely!
Thanks to my officemate Ann who gave this!
I think I might’ve influenced Ann to my little habit of giving a handful of snacks.
I have this little habit of sharing anything I have and I just usually wrap the food in a tissue paper and ration it to my friends. Its a sweet thought isn’t it? :)
Oh, and I also bought a new pair of contact lenses from Executive Optical! I needed to buy a new pair because my brown lenses are starting to sting when worn for a long period. Its been 6 months since I bought those lenses so it is really time to replace those!
When lenses start to be uncomfortable to wear, please throw them away and don’t force yourself into wearing them! Be gentle to your eyes because you only have one pair!
I’ve been meaning to buy a new pair, but lately I have been really short of money so I opted to buy the cheapest lenses in Executive optical which was only P390 pesos! I really love this optical shop because they let you try on the lenses!
Surprisingly, these cheap lenses do not compromise on its quality! It maybe a temporary wear for 3 months, but the colors really stand out!
It may not look like it by just looking at the lenses, but when you start to wear them, you’ll be amazed on how they transform the color of your eyes!
It looks so natural or may be mistaken for my real eye color if it was brown or gray.
But my eye grade only came in purple, so I had no choice but to buy it. It really does look purple to my dismay. I have no problem wearing purple lenses, but I didn’t feel like this is the time for PURPLE. I wanted something natural, like brown or gray.
I don’t have to question its comfort, because it was light as a feather and I almost didn’t feel like I was wearing anything in my eyes!
So that ends my entry, I might not update my blog as often as before because my computer is currently not working. Blogging from work is almost an impossible task.
Review: 5 People you meet in heaven
I wore a low cut yellow top today even if I knew how the harmful rays of the sun would contribute to my already uneven skin.
However, I cannot be bothered to open an umbrella on my way out of the house. I always opted for running or speed walking toward a tree shade to wait for a bus on my way to work. This resulted to an almost reckless, but a bit careful crossing across the street.
It seemed that the highways were not as congested so I decided to take my time and wait for a bus that would go all the way to Alabang. This bus is a bit uncommon, it would usually take about 20 minutes just to wait for one.
I am relived to have ridden one soon and seated comfortably. I took out my book titled "Five people you meet in heaven" and looked for a folded corner where I’ve last read it.
I knew I was in traffic— a very heavy traffic for many reasons. I couldn’t be bothered to look at my watch to check if I am late for work for I know that I am already riding the fastest transporatation vehicle I can on my way there. Therefore, fretting about the traffic is useless and waste of effort.
The vehicle wasn’t moving which explains how I read effortlessly until the last page without getting a migraine from vehicular motions.
I would usually stop reading when my head starts to hurt, and it means that the ride is smooth and there’s no traffic. Otherwise, I would spend my time reading in the bus while it stops for me to comfortably sneak on reading portions of a book.
I wasn’t as inspired and as touched by this story than the popular “Tuesday’s with Morrie.” On the latter I cried reading and it became one of my favorite books! I thought "5 People you meet in heaven" would be just as great.
Its a good book to read. I found myself satisfied and excited reading at the last few chapters but the first ones made me feel like I NEEDED to read it for the sake of MAYBE it’ll all make sense in the end, and it’ll have its climax.
The way he wrote the story makes you want to read more. He left a lot of cliffhanger changing its scene from heaven to earth, and to Eddie’s past which will make you want to turn the pages.
This book will draw out many emotions from you, and I would recommend people on reading it.
I didn’t find the urgency of finishing the book though. Its one of those books that I may tend to forget reading if I didn’t have the time.
I’d give it a 4 out 5 stars.
Review: HAIR REMOVAL - Veet wax strips, Veet cream, Glamworks Waxing kit, Sitcks and Pull
Today ill be reviewing some of the hair removal products that I have tested.
Let’s begin with the
worst product of all I have tried.
Its called Glam works Hair Removal Wax kit.
The only good thing that I noticed is that this is cheaper than any other products in the hair removal line and I thought I should give it a try because it says that it has "ALOE VERA EXTRACT".
I’m a bit skeptical when I opened the box because it contained a popsicle stick as a spatula and that will never work for me if I used EPILIN, so I used my EPILIN spatula instead.
I initally thought that this could probably work just the same as my usual and trusted EPILIN waxing kit because they have similar instructions on using the wax.
Here’s the instruction on the box:
1. Wash skin with soap and water and clean it dry.
2. Heat the Melting Pan with the Hard wax in low hear. Heating beyong 170C can weaken the wax.
3. After melting let the wax cool to a warm and tolerable heat.
1.Test the wax temperature on small area before applying.
2. Use the spatula to spread the wax on clean, dry kin/
3. For best result, cover the applied area with Glamworks Hair removal paper
4. Pull the end of the wax strip against the hair growth in one quick motion.
5.The wax strip will contain unwanted hair.
6.If the wax did not cool enough, you will feel the stickiness of the wax.
7. If the wax is hardened too long, it will break.
Wash skin with warm water. Temporary redness on the waxed area is normal.
Maybe its my fault for not reading the entire instruction list. I don’t remember reading numbers 5, 6 and 7. But then, I wouldn’t know if I don’t try!
So first I heat the pan on low heat. I let it cool for a VERY long time because I was surfing the internet that time, and I panicked because my usual EPILIN wax would’ve hardened if I left it for 20-30 minutes and that was the case at that time. Surprisingly it wasn’t hard but it became cool enough to apply. It didn’t have the strong wax smell like EPILIN’s so I was so happy to try it, in fact it smelled like aloe vera!
So the moment of truth has come for me to put it on my armpits.
Oh joy of joys, its easy to apply. I’d just have to wait for 5 minutes to pull it off — so i thought. But then… when it touched it, it was the most horrific thing ever! I thought it would never come off! It felt like gum on my armpit hair!It didn’t harden at all! Okay it did, but it was for like 20-30 minutes and my arm ached from raising!
It was so sticky like rugby or glue! It was the most messy hair removal product I have used and I WILL NEVER BUY THIS PRODUCT again!
I had trouble washing it off because it doesn’t dissolve in water! It was so sticky that even water and soap didn’t work for me! My armpit was hella sticky the entire day!
Did it remove the unwanted hair? Yes if you wait long enough for it to dry, but there are some hairs left. I don’t recommend this, unless you want to have a sticky armpit.
Veet hair removal wax strips with aloe vera and lotus.
It has 12 wax strips and 2 perfect finish wipes.
It says that it has strong grip technology and the strips are sufficient for depilation of both half legs, underarms and bikini line.
1.Rub the wax stip between your hands for about 5 seconds to warm the wax.
2. Slowly peel the strips apart
3. Place a strip onto your skin and rub repeatedly in the direction of hair growth.
4. While holding the skin taut, graip the bottom of the strip and pull back swiftly against the direction of the hair growth (from ankle to knee)
5.Remove any traces of wax residue with the Perfect finish wipes.
I tried this on my underarm and there were still some hair left on my armpits. Another bad thing is that it only has 2 finish wipes (which looks and feels like wet tissue).
You have to finish the 12 strips before using all your finish wipes because water and soap cannot remove the sticky residue of the strips!
It would’ve been easy to use if not for the residue of the wax left on your armpits. Not all the hairs have been removed!
Another sticky armpit for me when I used this. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS.
Veet Hair removal Cream with aloe vera and vitamin E
Simply apply the cream thinly on the area of unwanted hair wait for 5 minutes but never more than 10 minutes then gently shave the hair off with the soft plastic spatula.
Its the most convinient way of removing hairs on legs! Not messy at all. YOu just have to ready a tissue to clean the spatula while removing hair.
I haven’t tried it on my pits but im pretty sure it would’ve been easy to use as well. Its works like shaving, minus the razor.
Wash it off afterwards and it hair should regrow in about 3 weeks. Recommended.
Nanny Rose’s sticks and pulls Honey wax
ALL NATURAL hair removal, hot and cold.
I bought this because again, I thought this would be better than EPILIN because its NATURAL AND IT HAS HONEY.
Comes with 2 strips of cloth, a small plastic container of wax and a popsicle stick — supposed to serve as your spatula.
For the price of P99.00, the amount of product in the container was so little in my opinion! I was skeptical again with the spatula because I am always used to using the big spatula by epilin and it was less messier that way!
The product was sweet smelling, it reminded me of melted sugar and I was almost tempted to taste it! If I haven’t reminded myself that it was for hair removal, I would’ve tasted that thing.
The consistency was very sticky and thick, it was almost hard for me to take the cap off. I am disappointed again because there was only 2 cloth strips available to take off the wax.
So first I heated the container in the microwave for 10-15 seconds, applied it on my armpit lightso. Cut the cloth strip in 2 so I can use the rest of the next application. Its good for cold waxing so you needn’t to wait for it to harden, you can just use the strip and pull the wax off.
I think I put too much wax on my other pit, so there were a lot of residue left on my pit! I used the strip on it again to remove the wax remains but to no success. I put powder on my pit to dry it and then put more wax, but still didn’t remove all the hair!
The only good thing is that the wax product was dissolving in just water.
Do I recommend? Nahhh.. Ill stick to epilin wax.
I wasn’t trying to scare the soul out of you, but this is just how I look like in my usual yogurt mask. Hoho.
I know it may look gross, but I am sharing this because I have proven this to be very effective for me!
This is what I do on days that I don’t want to spend money on expensive pampering items.
If its good enough to eat, it must be good to put on the face!
I love doing this everytime! I can do it everyday! Its so rejuvinating and everytime I put this mask on, my face feels so smooth and silky! I feel really refreshed!
Its a very inexpensive way of pampering yourself and I can swear by this treatment! I never had issues with pimples or irritants when putting on this concoction on my face.
So, I just usually get an inexpensive non-flavored yogurt, add some oatmeal and a teaspoon of honey, and im done!
I chill the rest of the concoction in my fridge, and use it the next day if I feel like it. If the yogurt starts to smell bad, you should throw it away.
The effects? I have better complexion, my skin feels smooth and soft. You should try it out for yourself! See the difference!
I only spend less than a 50 bucks on this!
Yougurt alone is good enough if you like.
I like to let my mask stay on my face until it dries, and feels firm. I feel like I am having a face lift as well!
I usually put this on when I am surfing the internet. Good way to kill time.
So what is the benefit of yogurt?
The natural probiotic properties of yogurt work on the cells of the skin to rejuvenate and peel away years of sun damage and other damage to the skin.
Yogurt truly can help you defy age. Yogurt penetrates the skin to add elasticity to the cells of the skin
Oatmeal deep cleanses pores without irritating and drying out skin.
Honey is an excellent choice for all skin types, even sensitive skin. It’s antioxidant properties honey help to protect and rejuvenate the skin and aid to cleanse. Honey has moisture-giving properties and makes skin feel soft and supple. Naturally antibacterial in nature, honey makes an excellent treatment for many common skin problems. And will leave your skin smelling wonderfully sweet.
Let me know if you tried this! I’d love to know what you think.

Review: Cure Aqua gel
You have probably read some facts about Cure, but im going to reiterate them anyway:
*Is mostly made up of water
*Best seller in japan - solds out in seconds
*Removes dead skin cells - also known as diamond peel in a bottle
*Non abrasive way of removing dead skin.
*Suited for all skin types
Why did I buy this product in the first place, despite its expensive price?
I am looking for a
miracle product that will heal my very VERY (did I say VERY?) dry skin.
Plus, I want to try how it really builds up all that dirt and gunk on your face.
There is only one product I can swear by for my dry skin and that’s Neutregena’s Body Emulsion Norweigan Formula. Sadly, I cannot find this product locally, and I think the product has also been discontinued.
Anyway, back to topic.
So I tried this on some body parts where my dead skin is building up, (despite thorough and dedicated scrubbing + exfoliation) and it didn’t impress me at all.
Perhaps these pictures should tell you how it went.
Here’s a video of me using cure on my face:
Good for gentle facial exfoliation, it does leave your skin smooth after, but I need MORE for body exfoliation.
Maybe it does remove SOME dead skin, but not all of it. So I am not entirely satisfied.
